Geek Yoga Not Greek Yogurt

We all have to spend more and more hours in front of our computers these days. My wrists get clickly and my shoulders are up near my ears not to mention the stiffness in my legs and the inability of my back to bend to touch my toes like I could when I was 18. I used to be able to do the splits a couple of decades ago.
Geek Yoga with Yoga Jenny at Brighton New Media Centre on a Monday night is the way forward. We are an eclectic group of 6 local people who spend too much time leading a sedentary lifestyle and need not to feel too ashamed of our inability to get our bodies to move in seemingly wrong directions. Jenny is calm, patient and she helps us bend our bodies into movements that belong to the fit and nimble (with the help of blocks and straps).
It makes a huge difference to the next day, as socks are put on swiftly , toes are tickled and we do sit up a little more straight. My shoulders are slowly parting company from my ears and my stomach feels a little more strengthened. I can now do the Downward Dog pose and I will update you on Warrior 2 as well as the progression to Akarna-dhanura-asana (The Shooting-bow Pose). Who knows we might all turn up one day soon with Aphrodite and Adonis figures!
