Life’s a Pitch…

Lifes a Pitch by Steven Bayley & Roger Mavity. Are you nervous about pitching? Pussy. Read this book and man the f*!k up. Actually don’t. It won’t tell you anything useful, unless you’re still at primary school and the pitch you’re nervous about is show and tell. It is a self-help book. It pretends it isn’t, by lacing in anecdotes about big business and successful pitches, but it is a self-help book, for idiots. If you learn anything from this book, sit down at your desk, go to www.mcdonalds.com and apply for a job as a cleaner at your nearest branch, because that’s where you should have been working for the past 10 years. If you follow the books advice carefully in a couple of years you might even have a gold star on your badge for customer service. If you just fancy a light easy read though and are not expecting to have an epiphany halfway through then it’s Ok, has some good stories and serves as a kind of “brief history of everything that ever happened and how it relates to pitching.”
