Lovemarks

Lovemarks by Kevin Roberts. Sometimes love hurts but this isn’t a book about love bites or injuries picked up from a leather party in Amsterdam, it’s about how consumers feel about brands, and states that customer loyalty is ultimately down to love of a product. This might be going a bit far. I’m pretty sure I’ve been in love before and I’m very sure I don’t feel that way about any products. I tell people “I love Nike trainers” but I wouldn’t throw myself in front of a car for a pair of them, and I sure as shit wouldn’t sit through the Sex and the City movie for them. But our pal Jesus said there are different kinds of love so maybe it’s one of those that the book’s going on about. It’s written by the CEO of Saatchi and Saatchi, so he probably knows more about product love than me anyway. Still it is a little weird.
