The 22 Immutable Laws of Branding

The 22 Immutable Laws of Branding by Laura and Al Ries. This book takes a long hard look at a number of the worlds brands and works out what it is that they have done to make them so successful compared to other products in their category which are essentially the same. That’s basically what a brand boils down to in the end, a mark or something that distinguishes your product against the competitors. If you want to learn some handy hints about making your product stand out then this is the book for you. It won’t make you a brand-god overnight but it will let you know some of the basics. It gives a tonne of examples to look at as well as listing a few no go strategies that will only serve to dilute your brand (bad times.) The book should only take a couple of hours to read as well, so no excuses. If you work in marketing then you need to read, be reading or have read this book.
