A wise old frog once told us that it’s not easy being green. But here at Brightenup we try our best to be really good to the planet, especially when it is so good to us. We turn off the lights when we are not in, wash out our tins so the bin men recycle them and even get our printer cartridges refilled instead of buying new ones. We use lots of recycled paper and don’t believe in photocopiers and fax machines, we’re trying hard to live the paperless dream. Of course, being ethical is about more than turning off the taps and riding a shiny bike to work instead of driving a 4×4. We really are nice happy people here, and that is why we will only work with certain people. You won’t catch us jumping into bed with a manufacture of land mines or rocket-propelled grenades, or those horrible folk who make Chinese children stitch footballs for tuppence a month. We reckon that although we can’t make a big difference on our own, if everybody chipped in and did their bit then the world could be a much nicer place for us to all live in. Now, who fancies a nice cupper of fairtrade green tea?
