In this increasingly digital world your website is often the first time clients interact with your brand. This means it is important that you keep it up to date, and that your content rocks, but keeping everything current can sometimes feel like a bit of chore, especially when it takes up so much of your time and it’s supposedly so complicated.
What is a content management system? Well, funny you should ask. A content management system is a web application you run on your web server to help facilitate creating a website. A good one will be super flexible, unobtrusive and help you to make a great site easily. It should provide you with lots of tools to help the layman (blond) keep track of content, while letting more experienced webmasters (geeks) handle the look and feel. It should also provide tools to make repetitive things less repetitive.
Our content management systems are so straightforward that even us blondes can use them, and rest assured you won’t be wading through pages and pages of unintuitive rubbish just to update a single price, add a new product or update your Blog. You shouldn’t need to get the geek to help, that sort of stuff should be easy; so we decided to make it easy, however, if you want really complicated we can do that too. Such is the breadth and depth of solutions we offer, we come and spend some quality time with you and find out exactly what type of content you are looking to manage.
Luckily for us lots of businesses come to us with existing web sites that are growing and the cost of updating content doesn’t decline, static sites just get more and more expensive to change. There comes a tipping point when it becomes more cost effective to change to a ‘content management system’ during an update.
Now, it’s obviously loads cheaper for you to update your site yourself, however if you need us to do it for you, once every so often or even regularly we can and will. We can also help with the technical stuff and if it goes wrong (which is not very often) we’ll even fix it for you quickly. In short, our content management allows you to do the stuff that should be simple, without the need to get our heavy web people involved.
